I grew up
in Eagle Bend, MN, a town of about 500
people and have lived in the twin cities
metro area since 1987, starting out in the
Hopkins/Minnetonka area, then New Brighton
and now live in the northern suburbs of Coon
Rapids, but will work anywhere in the twin
cities metro area. After high school I
attended Alexandria AVTI for two years and
graduated with a Diploma in Commercial Art.
1st Career
as a Commercial Artist
In the 1980’s and 90’s I was a Commercial
Artist for advertising agencies, printing
and publication companies. Even though is
was a creative industry, when computers took
over in the early 90’s I decided I wanted a
career more people oriented, instead of
being on a computer all day. I returned to
school in my 30’s to pursue a Bachelors
degree in Training & Development/Human
Resources at Metropolitan State University,
so I could hire people for a living, since I
was always having fun helping my friends
find better jobs! After graduation, I
decided to pursue a Masters Degree in Human
Development/Career Counseling at St. Mary’s
University, so I could not only help people
find jobs, but help them with their career. |
2nd Career
as a Recruiter
In the 1990’s and into the twenty-first
century I have been a recruiter for
technical professionals including: software
engineers, project managers, writers,
software quality assurance, programmers,
system administrators, infrastructure
analysts, information technology, marketing
professionals, and human resources. The
problem with recruiting is that it’s so
volatile with the economy, and when a
recession hits, no recruiter jobs! So after
a layoff as a recruiter, I decided to
retrain as a real estate agent, in a career
field that is more about the strength of the
local economy.
3rd Career
as an Accredited Staging Professional
As a real estate agent from 2003-2005, I
realized that Staging the home for sale was
more of where my passion was rather than
selling houses, so I now work with realtors
doing consultations on how to prepare homes
for sale. I have staged my own townhouse &
others, which sold in weeks. Staging is
proven to sell houses faster! I enjoy
decorative painting so much that I have
painted all 11 rooms in my house; sometimes
all it takes is a fresh coat of paint to
spruce up your home! I have been an artist,
painter & photographer all my life.
My
services: Home Staging for Selling or
Living. I love to paint and also do
decorative painting, such as Faux, double
rolling, glazing, and texturizing. As a
previous commercial artist I know color! I
would love to colorize your home! Certain
colors make rooms appear larger or smaller.
I'm also a huge HGTV fan! Check out
"Designed to Sell" & "Sell This House" on
A&E, there are both about Staging/preparing
your home for sale. Remember, proper pricing
and staging is what will sell your house!
